When Are Spirit Around Us?
When are spirit around us by Psychic Medium Kristian von Sponneck
People often ask me, “Kristian, when are Spirit actually around us?”
It’s a question that sounds simple, but the answer reaches into the very heart of what mediumship truly is. Spirit doesn’t clock in and out of our lives. They don’t visit for a few minutes and then disappear into some distant realm. They exist in a state of constant awareness that flows through our own — gently, quietly, and with love.

But would you really want them with you all of the time?
It’s a question worth asking. The truth is that while Spirit are always aware of us, they don’t hover or intrude. They are respectful of our space, our emotions, and our human journey. Their presence ebbs and flows, drawing closer in certain moments — when we need them, think of them, or open ourselves to their world.
Spirit Are Around When We Remember Them
The most common time Spirit draw close is when we think of them — not with sadness, but with love.
When you recall a memory, speak their name, or look at a photograph, your energy changes. That thought becomes a light in the spiritual world, and Spirit responds instantly.
Love is the greatest connector between worlds. The moment you remember them, they feel it. Thought is the language of Spirit, and remembrance is an open invitation.
So when a song plays at just the right moment, or a scent drifts through the air that no one else can smell — that isn’t coincidence. It’s Spirit saying, “I’m here too.”
They Are Around During Times of Change
Spirit often draw close during times of transition — moments when our lives shift, whether through loss, new beginnings, or emotional upheaval.
They don’t interfere with our choices, but they do offer comfort and calm. Their presence helps soften the edges of fear and brings a subtle reassurance that we’re being guided through it.
Sometimes, just when life feels uncertain, you might sense warmth, calm, or even a wave of peace for no reason. That’s Spirit standing close — not to take over, but to remind you that you’re not walking alone.
They Visit Through Stillness
Spirit needs stillness to be felt.
In a world filled with noise and distraction, few people sit in quiet long enough to sense the subtle. But Spirit thrives in silence, in reflection, in meditation, and in those quiet moments before sleep.
You don’t have to summon them — they’re already there. You simply have to become still enough to notice.
They’re Closer Than You Think During Grief
In times of deep grief, Spirit is especially near. They don’t stand apart watching you suffer — they blend closer, surrounding you with compassion.
Many people feel a sudden calm in their worst moments of sorrow — that’s Spirit holding you when the human world cannot.
Grief doesn’t repel Spirit; it draws them closer. Love doesn’t end with the physical body, it simply changes its form — and that continuing love acts as a magnet between worlds.
But Would You Really Want Them with You All the Time?
It’s a comforting thought to imagine that our loved ones never leave our side. But if they truly were with us every second — watching us, listening to our every thought — would we really want that?
Spirit understands boundaries. They are not there to intrude, to observe every mundane moment of our daily lives, or to hover constantly over us.
They visit when it’s meaningful — when we need comfort, reassurance, or connection.
Just as we wouldn’t want to be constantly watched in our human relationships, Spirit respects our privacy too.
They don’t follow us from room to room; they come when the heart calls, and they step back when we need space to live, grow, and make our own choices.
That’s what makes their presence so special — they appear when it matters.
Spirit Work Through Energy, Not Distance
Spirit doesn’t travel miles or pass through walls. They blend through energy. That’s why you can sense them whether you’re in their old home, visiting their resting place, or simply sitting in your favourite chair.
They’re drawn not to location, but to love.
Where they are remembered, they are present.
Energy never dies; it transforms. Spirit is part of that transformation — an ongoing current of life that continues just beyond physical sight.
Signs That Spirit Is Near
When Spirit is close, you may notice:
Flickering lights or electrical changes
Unusual scents like perfume, tobacco, or flowers
Dreams that feel more like visits than imagination
The sudden feeling that someone familiar is beside you
Feathers, coins, songs, or repeating numbers appearing at just the right time
These aren’t coincidences; they’re gentle acknowledgements — Spirit’s way of saying, “I’m still part of your story.”
They’re Always Listening, Even When You Don’t Speak
You don’t need to speak out loud for Spirit to hear you.
They respond to vibration — to emotion, intention, and sincerity. The words don’t matter as much as the feeling behind them.
If you’ve ever whispered “I miss you” into the quiet, they’ve heard it. If you’ve ever said “thank you” to the empty room, it hasn’t gone unheard.
Communication with Spirit is not about ritual; it’s about awareness.
So, When Are They
The truth is both simple and profound: Spirit are always near, but they make themselves known when you most need to feel them.
They draw close during reflection, love, grief, change, and memory — not to linger endlessly, but to remind you of their eternal connection.
Spirit doesn’t watch every moment of your day; they honour your life, your growth, and your privacy.
They appear when it matters most — when your heart calls, when your soul remembers, when love stirs the air between worlds.
Because Spirit doesn’t follow — Spirit flows.
They are not gone. They are simply waiting for you to notice.
